The Houlton Council of Catholic Women met in the chapel at St. Mary of the Visitation May 6 for the Rosary, led by Rev. David Raymond, moderator. Fr. Raymond had a special blessing for Janet Barker who was to have a procedure the next day.

After Rosary we convened in the parish center for the meeting and lunch. The traditional prayers were said. Jane Stile gave the minutes for the last meeting. Mary Grant gave a financial report.
Janet Barker thanked everyone who helped in any way with the First Holy Communion reception.
Molly Bailey will deliver items to the animal shelter that members brought to the meeting. Lynette Dobbs had delivered some earlier.
Mary Grant will look into the matter of buying tables for the parish center and hall.
Phyllis Blanchette and Darlene Longstaff have been decorating around the parish grounds and council donated a sum of money to help with the expenses.
Jane Mitchell, Janet Barker and Alta Reardon were on the nominating committee and submitted the following for the coming season: president, Lynette Dobbs; vice president, Jane Mitchell; and Mary Grant, treasurer. The installation of officers will take place at the June 3 meeting.
At Fr. Raymond’s suggestion, we will determine whether to shift back to night meetings in September.
July 20 will be the date for the state meeting in July and plans will be finalized at the June meeting.
The Knights of Columbus had a supper May 11 and a Mother’s Day breakfast was sponsored by the Youth Ministry.
Birthdays and anniversaries were acknowledged and the basket for the seminary fund was available for those who wanted to donate.
A supper will be in the parish center on May 21. The next meeting will be June 3.
