Oakfield (American Legion Post No. 52)
9–9:45 a.m — A short prayer service and Firing Volley at the WWII Memorial in the Oakfield Cemetery and laying of wreaths.
9:45 – 10 a.m. — The Memorial Day Parade will form at the Oakfield Community Center. All are welcome; Peter Drew will be the Parade Commander and will line up the parade. It will proceed down to the Oakfield Fire Station and all will gather at that point for the Memorial Day ceremonies and wreath laying.
11 a.m. — There will be patriotic music and guest speakers. The public will also be invited to speak on Memorial Day events and what Memorial Day means to them. The day’s activities will conclude with a closing prayer.
Houlton (American Legion Post No. 47)
9 a.m. — A memorial service will be held at Soldier’s Hill.
Approximately 10:30 a.m. — Parade will start at TD Bank and continue on to the bridge for a wreath-tossing ceremony. The parade then continues through Market Square, ending at Monument Park, where there will be a series of speakers at the memorials. Afterwards, members of the public are invited to the Legion Post for a meal of hamburgers and hotdogs.
Patten Parade
10 a.m. — The Patten Woman’s Club will be sponsoring a Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 27. Starting at the United Methodist Church and ending at the Patten Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.
