Rob Moran
Rob Moran was recently hired as Community Living Association’s new executive director effective April 29. Moran has worked with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 26 years. He worked at CLA as a home provider, program aide, job coach and community guide becoming very active with Special Olympics; Danforth Habilitation as developmental disabilities professional and then returned to CLA as director, residential services, intermediate care facility (ICF).
Moran has a bachelor degree in therapeutic recreation specializing his entire work life in this field. In addition, he has a multi-level nursing home administrator’s license for ICF and residential services.
Moran is well known to the community being very active in the local schools’ sports programs coaching, officiating and broadcasting games for WHOU. He has coached varsity basketball in Danforth, Hodgdon and currently Houlton. Moran previously coached soccer at the junior high and varsity level at Hodgdon. He started working with the youth of the Houlton and surrounding area when he was 16 years old when he first coached peewee basketball for Houlton Parks and Recreation.
CLA’s Board of Directors’ President, Tom Moakler, congratulated Moran as the new executive director. The Board and staff look forward to supporting Moran in his new leadership role as he continues to contribute to CLA’s mission and positive work culture.
