    HOULTON – Lorraine (Anderson) Grant, 87, of Houlton, joined her husband of 48 years, Kenneth Grant, on Friday morning, May 10. She was born on August 25, 1925 in Stockholm, daughter of the late Albert & Minnie Anderson.
    Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother dedicated to her family.
    She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Forte of Houlton; her son, Robert, and his wife, Bonnie, of Falmouth; and her stepdaughter, Cheryl Maxwell, and her husband, Maynard, of Lee; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Welton of Woodville, Karen Gonya of Easton, Kenneth Gonya, and his wife, Melody, of Houlton, Lauri Clements of Okeechobee, FL, Robert Forte of Memphis, TN, Jason Grant, and his wife, Carey, of Traverse City, MI, Kevin Maxwell, and his wife, Ginger, of Lee, Keith Maxwell, and his wife, Kathy, of Burkburnett, TX, and Scott Maxwell of Lee. She was the proud “Mimi” to sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Albertine Jepson of Bangor. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Laverne and Fred Anderson, and her sister, Arlene Espling.
    Lorraine was a long-time member of the Military Street Baptist Church. She found joy, solace and peace in her faith and in the fellowship of her many church friends. Her faith gave her strength as she faced declining health and loss of friends and family in recent years.
    A service for Lorraine was held on Monday, May 13, at the Military Street Baptist Church, at their new location on Drake’s Hill. Calling hours were at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. with Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to do so can remember Lorraine by supporting the church that meant so much to her.
