Though the water was low, everyone who paddled in the annual Meduxnekeag Canoe Race on Saturday enjoyed the warm temperatures and sunny skies.
Houlton’s Fred Ludwig was the overall winner, paddling his kayak to a one hour, 18 minutes and 49 second finish.

OC-1 Racing: First, Jim Parks, 1:36:14 and second, Eric Gallant, 1:45:08.
Century Racing: First, Fran Cyr/Dave McCrossin, 1:31:09.
K-1 long Racing: First, Ludwig, 1:18:49 and second, Ben Randall, 1:25:47.
K-1 Short Racing: First, Dan Beaumont, 1:36:25; second, Brian Foley, 1:36:59; third, John Carter, 1:38:06 and fourth, Larry Merrill, 1:38:07.
Junior/Senior Recreational Experienced: First, Dave Conley/Joshua Jones,1:41:43 and second, Peter Apgar/Mitchell Bartlett, 1:47:34.

As her father gets a chuckle out of their predicament, Karam hangs on for the ride. The father/daughter partners finished the annual race with a time of 2:13:04.
