The second annual Merrill Millstream Park canoe race is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, with registrations at 9 a.m. and the race starting at 10 a.m.
Cost is $10 per paddler, which includes lunch and a participation gift. Hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and a drink will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. for $5 a plate.
The race classes will include an open class (race team of more than two in a canoe or a craft not classified as a canoe or kayak); K-2 (two-person kayak, males, females or mixed); K-1L (one-person kayak longer than 13 feet, four inches); K-1S (a one-person kayak 13 feet, four inches and under); C-2 (mix canoe of one man and one woman paddlers) C-2M (canoe, both paddlers male); C-2W (canoe with both paddlers female); and C-2HS (high school students in a canoe of any length, with both participants 16-18 years of age).
There will also be children’s Pirate Games from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
