Ethel Marie (Higgins) Hawkins of Hodgdon, Maine and Boynton Beach, Florida, joined the Legions of Angels on April 15, 2013. Ethel, daughter of Henry Higgins and Emma (Duff) Higgins was born in East Hodgdon on July 21, 1924.
She married the love of her life, Earl, in Sept. of 1945. They had five children, Wade, Marilyn, Roger, Brian and Gerald. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother as well as a generous and giving member of her church and community.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Leona; her brother, Henry Jr.; and a granddaughter, Sarah Hawkins and grandson, Thomas Anderson.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Earl and her children as well as her sisters, Alene Call, Rowena Circo, Glennice Stevens and Ardis Records. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren scattered throughout the country.
A service celebrating Ethel’s life was held April 18, 2013 at Boynton Beach Congregational United Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m.
