Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
Most every guy I have ever met has had a fish story and “True Stories of Maine Fly Fishermen” by J.H.Hall matches many of them. Given in memory of one local fisherman by another local fisherman it holds a tidbit to cause thought about all those stories.

Could the tales be an attempt to exaggerate the size of the fish just because the listener will think the fish were shorter anyway? Can a single fish change a day from miserable to memorable? And for the ladies who love fishing (my granddaughter is one) there are nice parts about their deeds and doings. Clean, fun, and inspiring reading- no exaggeration.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
