    A BIKE PARADE led the Mapleton Daze Parade through town. Children decorated their bikes, trikes, strollers and wagons and had a good time being part of the event. Thirty helmets were also donated by Aroostook Emergency Medical Services.

    THE HAYSTACK HISTORICAL SOCIETY hosted its annual Homemade Pie and Ice Cream Sale June 28 as part of the annual Mapleton Daze festivities. Here, six-year-old Keegan Leslie French offers her great-grandmother, Myrna Gardner, some of her ice cream. Gardner is the secretary/treasurer of the historical society.

    BEST ANTIQUE — A 1947 hay loader won “Best Antique” float at Saturday’s Mapleton Daze Parade. Taking part in the display, from left, were Alan Wilcox, Joan Stevens, Richard Wilcox and Peter Wilcox. Peter Wilcox said the equipment, was restored with original parts except for the wood, and the project took about one year to complete. The tractor, and the hayer, both belonged to their father, Roy Wilcox.
