Parker Sanderson, son of Debbie and Chuck Sanderson formerly of New Limerick, garnered the Travis Roy Award.
The award is presented by the Class A coaches’ association each year to the state’s outstanding senior player.
The Travis Roy Award is limited to Class A players; Sanderson wouldn’t have been eligible if his family hadn’t moved to Bangor his sophomore year.
Sanderson played for the Houlton-Hodgdon Black Hawks in Class B and excelled 1n the Class A ranks.
Sanderson led Bangor with 25 goals and 26 assists. He had two assists and the game-winning goal in a 3-2, double-overtime victory over St. Dominic’s in the Eastern Class A semifinals.
