MARS HILL – Maine State Police continue to investigate the stabbing of a local man that occurred July 3.
Brent Folsom, 39, of Mars Hill was reportedly walking along the ATV trail in Mars Hill on Thursday around 12:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. “Folsom reported that he had been stabbed while walking on the ATV trail in Mars Hill. He was transported by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle for a non-life-threatening injury,” said Sgt. Tom Pelletier, of the MSP.
According to TAMC, Folsom was treated and discharged the next day, July 4.
Police continue to gather information in what they are calling a “suspicious incident.”
“We believe it’s an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing,” said Pelletier.
Several troopers and detectives from the MSP Criminal Division responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate. Trooper Rob Flynn is the primary investigator on the case. No other information on the stabbing or possible assailant(s) were available at presstime.
