    With anywhere from three to five games left on the regular season, local high school boys basketball teams still have plenty of points left to pick up.
    Yesterday, Houlton was scheduled to host Lee Academy and on Saturday, it will be a dogfight when they head to Hodgdon for a rematch with the Hawks at 7 p.m. Next Tuesday, the Shiretowners finish the season at Caribou.

    GHCA still has four remaining games; at East Grand tonight at 6:30 p.m., while traveling Saturday to Van Buren. They finish the season on the road at Wisdom (Feb. 5) and at Hodgdon (Feb. 8).

    The Southern Aroostook Warriors can still position themselves in Class D as they play in Washburn on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and close out the year hosting East Grand on Monday, Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
    The Katahdin Cougars have two big games left on their schedule as they faced Southern Aroostook yesterday and will host Ashland on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  They end the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 7 when they host Central Aroostook at 6:30  p.m.
    The East Grand Vikings will finish their season with the following games: they host GHCA tonight at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday they travel to Wisdom; Monday they will be in Dyer Brook to meet the Warriors and Wednesday, Feb. 6, they will be at Acadia Christian School.
    Scores from last week’s games are as follows:
    Houlton 50, Fort Kent 44 — Last Friday in Fort Kent, the Shiretowners turned a two-point first-quarter lead into a 27-17 halftime advantage. But, the Warriors battled back to pull to within five points by the end of the third, as Houlton held them off for the win.
    Kyle Bouchard led Houlton with 19 points, while Dan Swallow tossed in 16 points, as Houlton remains undefeated at 15-0. Nick Guiod dropped in six points, while Kole Buzzeo and Elyjah Crockett each had four points and Jake Drew added a point.
     Katahdin 62, GHCA 42 — In Hodgdon last Saturday, the Katahdin Cougars used a big second half from their big man to break the game  open.
    Colton Bivighouse knocked down 20 second-half points, pacing his team with a game-high 30 points. Wyatt Morse and T.J. Young each had eight points for the winners.
    For GHCA, Deyrell Vargas pumped in 18 points.
    Rounding out Katahdin’s scoring were Gavin Russell with seven points; Nick Lane with five and Tyson Porter with four more. For GHCA, Russell Socoby finished with eight, while Aaron Holmes had seven; Dana Brown, six and Ethan Jacques, three points.
    Katahdin led at each of the breaks: 9-8; 19-12; and 38-19.
    Katahdin 62, Penobscot Valley 51 — Last Wednesday at home, the Cougars pulled away in the second half of action for the win.
    The Howlers took a 15-11 opening lead and held a slim 22-21 halftime advantage. The Cougars built a 10-point lead in the third, 42-32, en route to the win.
    Morse scored 25 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, while Bivighouse scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Russell also added eight points for the winners.
    Southern Aroostook 83, East Grand 53 — Last Thursday in Danforth, the Warriors outscored East Grand 23-7 in the second quarter en route to the win.
    Jesse Boulier poured in a game-high 33 points for the Warriors, while Trent Cullinan added 17 points.

    East Grand was led by Neil Noble with 14 points, with Alex Brittain finishing with 13.
    Southern Aroostook led at each break: 21-12; 44-19 and 59-42.
    East Grand 32, Shead 65 — At Eastport on Saturday, the Vikings fell behind early and could never recover.
    Shead led 19-9; 37-17 and 56-30 at the breaks.
    Noble had 10 points for the Vikings, while Logan Crone netted eight; Jimmy Brittain, six; and Alex Stoddard five.
