Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
Some lucky teens will get a camera for Christmas and Cary Library has several books to help take, develop, correct some mistakes, crop, and frame the pictures worth saving. (The pictures are NOT always good!)
“Displaying the Shot” by Jason Skog (j770) is a book written especially for teens, donated by a business in town for the Christmas giving program. (Did you know a book can be donated to the Children’s Library for $10 donation? The book gets a bookplate with the name of the donor and/or honoree and a snowman jumps right onto the Library lobby bulletin board?)
In this book there is a section on retouching, which is used to eliminate unwanted spots on clothing or the occasional blemish on faces. Take a look at the teen section next time you’re in the Library – good things are right there.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
