Cary Library Corner

Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
This book was recommended by a knitter in our midst. There is a wee bit of time left to make a personal Christmas gift or two, and Cary has a delightful book, “Knits To Give,” by Debbie Bliss with 30 projects mapped for you to consider. Chapters are dedicated to him’s, her’s, baby’s, kid’s, and home’s. The lion cub scarf and stripey socks are quite intriguing. A gorgeous lacy shawl would be a treasure for an adult.
Written for Debbie’s own line of yarn, she gives detailed instruction to interchange products. A colorful book, well-laid out, with detailed illustrations is fun just to look into if you weren’t interested in needlework just now.
Cary has many craft books on many different crafts ready to get you started, if not for before Christmas, for the New Year.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
