Ecumenical Thanksgiving service planned for community

    The Southern Aroostook Ministerial Association (SAMA) invites the public to attend the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service for the community to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Houlton on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m., followed by food and fellowship.
    Rev. Patrice Goodwin, the new minister at the Houlton United Methodist Church, will give the message. A newly formed ecumenical Brass Ensemble will provide music.
    Baskets will be available to receive canned goods for St. Mary’s Food Pantry. The offering will go to the Salvation Army Fuel Fund and the SAMA Emergency Fund.
    Participating churches in SAMA are: First Baptist, First Congregational, UCC, Good Shepherd Episcopal, Military Street Baptist, Quaker Worship Group, St. Mary’s Catholic, Salvation Army, United Methodist Churches in Houlton and Hodgdon and Unitarian Universalist.
