Runners compete in States

    Local runners fared well at the State Cross-Country Meet held Saturday in Belfast. The Greater Houlton Christian Academy had two runners compete, while Hodgdon High School had one participant.
    Hodgdon senior Nick Lunn finished 33rd with a time of 18:43.72 from among 61 competitors. The overall winner was senior Jack Pierce of Merriconeag Waldorf High School in a time of 15:57.41.
    For GHCA, senior Destinee Neureuther finished in 46th place, while Lauren Robertson was 73rd out of 86 runners.
    Neureuther’s time was 23:29.22, while Robertson clocked in at 25:21.04. The overall female winner was Washburn junior Carsyn Koch finishing at 19:30.56.
