Greater Houlton Christian Academy’s (GHCA) 19th annual Harvest Festival and Auction on Saturday provided a morning of fun and games for area children and an afternoon of friendly bidding competition for adults.
GHCA is committed to helping provide an affordable Christian education for area families and fund-raising efforts, like the auction, help GHCA keep the cost of tuition lower than the actual cost of running the school, noted Head of School John Bishop.
“What a great day,” said Bishop. “This is our largest fall fundraiser and by all accounts it was very successful. Several junior high and high school students helped with children’s games in the morning. While it was a bit cool outside, the children still had a great time. The gym was full of people in the afternoon, bidding on over 400 items. Thanks to the efforts of many, over $17,000 was raised to support GHCA. We are grateful for such a strong turnout of community members.”
