The Houlton Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for the following Youth Basketball Programs: Tykes basketball for grades 1-2; Peewee basketball for grades 3-4 and Little Hoopsters for Kindergarteners.
Tykes and Peewee basketball will start the week of Nov. 26. These two programs introduce basketball to youth through weekly practices and games. The season runs until Feb. 9. Each of these programs costs $25 for Houlton residents and $35 for non-Houlton residents. Registration deadline is Nov.10.
New this year is the “Little Hoopsters” program for Kindergarteners. This program is designed with the youngsters in mind. It will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 15 and 22 at the Houlton Recreation Department. They will work on fun dribbling and passing skills.
Parents may choose between the 9 a.m., 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. time slot. Each hour is limited to 15 children. Cost for the program is $20 per child. Registration is required and the deadline is Nov. 10.
