NE-CLR-DV proclamation-dc-pt-40The Hope and Justice Project and Maliseet Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocacy Center presented a proclamation that was signed by Houlton’s Town Council Sept. 24. Both programs are encouraging members of the community to wear a purple ribbon and attend one or both of the events scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 3. Hope and Justice Project hosts its event at 5 p.m. in Market Square, while the Maliseet event begins at 6:30 at their gymnasium. In the event of rain, the Hope and Justice event will be move to Thursday, Oct. 4. Taking part in the proclamation are, from left, Katie Bell, transitional housing coordinator for HBMI; Cathy O’Leary, interim town manager; Karan Wotton, Hope and Justice Project; and Cathy St. John, HBMI Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocacy Center.
