BU-CLR-CPT-dcx-pt-40HOULTON STAFF — County Physical Therapy celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012, including 10 years in Houlton. The CPT Houlton team includes, from left to right, front row, Hannah Drost, Rita Gardiner, Renee Grant, Kiley Henderson and Elissa Madore; and back row, Kirk Ward, Jordan Hill, Chris Rines and Peter Madore.

Back in the summer of 1987, Mark Rossignol, who had been working as a physical therapist in Aroostook County for a few years, was thinking about moving his family to southern New England.
“I was looking for the best opportunity for myself and my family,” he said.
A few conversations with local physicians convinced Rossignol that maybe the best opportunity was to stay.
“Twenty-five years ago, physical therapy was mostly done in hospital settings,” Rossignol explained.  “Outpatient practices were few, but the role of quality rehab was becoming more important in the successful outcome of surgery and other injuries. I decided that my best opportunity was to stay in Aroostook County and build a strong physical therapy practice here.”
Rossignol opened “County Physical Therapy” in Caribou in the fall of 1987. With a focus on the core values of service, leadership, teamwork, education, and respect, “CPT”, as the practice became known, quickly established a strong reputation for results among both physicians and patients. “From the beginning, we have always had a philosophy of functional outcome-driven care, and we invest in both our people and equipment to keep ourselves ahead of the curve.”
CPT opened their second clinic in Presque Isle in 1997, followed by Madawaska in 1999, Fort Kent in 2000, and Houlton in 2002.
“Over the past 25 years County Physical Therapy has grown and been successful primarily because of the excellent staff which is highly qualified, knowledgeable, motivated, and dedicated,” stated Rossignol. “I am proud to say that most of our therapists are Aroostook County natives.  We have been able to attract and retain what I consider to be the best team of therapists in the state of Maine. We spend time on advanced training and continuing education, and we are always looking to make ourselves better.”
CPT in Houlton
County Physical Therapy’s Houlton clinic will celebrate 10 years in Houlton in 2012, and continues to operate in the TD Bank Plaza on North Street.  Physical Therapist Peter Madore has managed the Houlton clinic since the first day.  “Working with the people in the area is very rewarding,” Madore stated.  “We have a great clinic team, and we try to make the patients enjoy their rehab.”
Over the past two years, CPT has grown both the staff as well as the services offered in Houlton. In addition to Peter Madore and Elissa Skehan Madore, CPT recently hired Houlton native Jordan Hill as a Physical Therapist. Hill is a 2012 graduate of the University of New England with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His clinical experiences include orthopedic outpatient clinics in the Central Maine area, as well as an assignment in a skilled nursing facility in Illinois.
CPT also offers Occupational Therapy with Kiley Henderson, who is the only Certified Hand Therapist north of Bangor, and recently began their second school year providing Athletic Training services to Houlton High School with Certified Athletic Trainer Chris Rines.
As part of their 25th anniversary, County Physical Therapy will be having an Open House later in October, which will feature a chance to tour their facilities, meet with the team, and learn more about services offered.
