    Goodwin, Iva J., 91, August 30, 2012.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.  Interment to be held in the Silver Ridge Cemetery.
    SILVER RIDGE – Iva J. Goodwin, 91, died Aug. 30, 2012, in Patten. She was born June 6, 1921, in Macwahoc, the daughter of William and Nellie (Merrill) Atkinson.
    Iva lived her life in Silver Ridge and graduated from Sherman High School, class of 1939. She was a longtime member of Molunkus Valley Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, where she was past worthy grand matron and a faithful member of Silver Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, baking and hard work. She hosted everyone who came through her door, and everyone did come through her door, and sat at her table.
    She is survived by two daughters, Erlene and her husband, Bob Howard, of Wilton, N.H., and Joette and her husband, David Duff, of Gorham. One of 12 siblings, she is survived by sisters, Helen Crooker of Hampden, Beulah Kreuger of Kingston, Mass., and Laura Jordan of Lincoln. She was mamie to Edwin, Eric, Joelle, Erin, Charlsey and Carlyn; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many other children who sat in her kitchen, eating molasses cookies. She was predeceased by Edwin “Kike” Goodwin and Fred Goodwin, OHGM.
    Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman Street, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Jim O’Hara and David Duff officiating.
