Houlton Cancer Prayer and Support Group meets

HOULTON, Maine — A diagnosis of cancer can be a time of great challenge physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually for the cancer patient and their loved ones.
It is the purpose of the Houlton Cancer Prayer and Support Group to provide a place where cancer patients and their loved ones can come together for mutual spiritual support and prayer.  It is their aim to provide an atmosphere where persons can reconnect with their faith in a place where prayer and God’s love are a reality.
Those who become part of this group can expect to find:
• A place to hear methods of coping with symptoms of their illness
• A place to discuss and share resources about dealing with side effects of treatment.
• A place to discuss the daily impact of cancer.
• A place to find tremendous support and hope for the future.
• A place where they can hear how others have found God in the midst of cancer.
• A place where they can receive prayer and spiritual connection.
You do not have to fight this battle alone. There are those who want to walk with you in this journey.
The group is open to anyone who desires this kind of support as they face the future. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Houlton United Methodist Church on the corner of Military and School streets.
