HOULTON, Maine — A warm, sunny morning made for a hot race for runners in the annual Maliseet 4-Miler held Saturday.
A field of 31 walkers and runners took part in the event. The top finishers in the run were Chris Rines (24 minutes, 25 seconds) of Houlton; Jeff Ashby (24:54) of Presque Isle; and Dave Tree (26:03) of Fredericton, N.B. Top runners in the female division included Angela Ewings (30:29) of Littleton; Sara Johnston (32:53) of Houlton; and Destinee Neureuther (34:33) of Hodgdon.
For the 3-mile walk, the top finishers were Brenda Tree (41:22) of Fredericton N.B.; Brenda Commander (41:23) of Houlton; and Jamie Newell (41:57) of Pembroke.
