Summerfest 2012 schedule of events

Friday, July 27
2 p.m. — Kids parade. Enter bikes, trikes, or wagons.  There will be ribbons for first, second and third place winners.
3-5 p.m. — Color contest and other activities.
4 p.m. — Volleyball and basketball tournaments. Location is listed on the registration form.
    6 p.m. — Miss and Mr. Summerfest Pageant at the Town Hall. Age groups are newborn-4; 5-9; 10-13; and 14-18. Trophies, crowns and sashes for winners in all age groups. The theme is “Happy Days/ 1950’s.” For registration form contact April Doane at 448-2095. Pre-registration is required. The pageant will be cancelled if not enough participants sign up.

Saturday, July 28
7 a.m. — Danforth Fire Department Breakfast. Reserve your spot by calling 448-2321.
8 a.m. — Kick off Summerfest with children games for ages 2-12 by the Town Office.
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Various vendors set-up around town.
10 a.m. — Summerfest Parade begins. Line up starts at the boat landing. Report time is 9:30 a.m. The theme is “Happy Days/1950’s.”  Floats will be judged and given first, second and third place ribbons. Pre-registration is required.
11 a.m. — Disc ball piñatas. Filled with goodies and who knows, maybe some cash!
11 a.m. — Pet Show. See Kristen Wittine for more information.
11:30 a.m. — Children and adult games/activities located on Main Street will go on throughout the afternoon.
Noon-2 p.m. – Eastern Maine Electric Company will feature children games and Wing Nut the Clown. This is located on the school grounds.
1 p.m. — Pie eating and soda chugging contests.
2 p.m. — Giant Bowling Ball contest.  This will be held in the Town Hall.
3 p.m. — Limbo, Boot-in-the-barrel toss, Egg toss, and Water balloon toss.
5 p.m. — Sock Hop/Hula hoop contest.
7-9 p.m. — Family Fun Street Dance – featuring Philip Farley.
9 p.m. — Giant prize giveaways will be announced.

Sunday, July 29
8 a.m. — 3-on-3 Basketball, Volleyball, and Horseshoe Tournament. If not enough teams will be cancelled. Locations are on the registration forms. Pre-registration is required.
11 a.m. – Chili cook off contest.
6 p.m. — Movie in the Town Hall – Featuring Grease! Popcorn and drinks will be on sale.
