With summer and the library’s Summer Reading program for children in full swing, we recommend another “Maine” book for youths, “The Train to Maine,” by Jamie Spencer. Illustrator Rebecca Reed’s dreamy pictures are perfect for the rhyming text.
This “train” starts in North Station, Boston and zips through the miles as the family enjoys scenery, wildlife and plans to cool off in Portland and Old Orchard Beach. It is a fun read for parents to share with their children.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
