    SMYRNA – Brett A. Hitchcock, 46, husband of Denise M. (Clark) Hitchcock, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 4 at Smyrna. He was born June 14, 1966 in Waterbury, CT, the son of Robert J. and Norma J. (Hoyt) Hitchcock.
    Brett had been employed in the logging and saw mill industry, working for several area employers including Pelletier, Inc. on the Golden Road. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, especially fishing and boating, but his greatest love was his family.
    He is suvived by his wife, Denise of Smyrna; two sons, Brett A. Hitchcock of Smyrna and Joshua D. Hitchcock of Smyrna Mills; mother and stepfather, Norma and Bruce Fowler of Smyrna; three brothers, Robert Hitchcock and companion, Nancy, of Bangor, Kenneth Hitchcock and his companion, Debbie, and Greg Hitchcock; a sister, Sherry Knapp, all of Smyrna; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Hoyt of Monticello; aunt and uncle Patsy and Gary Scott of New Hampshire; beloved pets, “Lucy” and “T-Tiddler”; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Hitchcock; paternal grandparents, Edgar and Alma Hitchcock; and maternal grandfather, Laurence Hoyt.
    Friends called 7-9 p.m. on Monday, July 9 at Bowers Funeral Home, 54 Sherman Street, Island Falls. Graveside funeral services will be at the Smyrna Cemetery at a later date.
