$90,000+ given in scholarships at HHS Last Chapel

    HOULTON — Senior Last Chapel was held at Houlton High School June 4. After the seniors marched in accompanied by the Faculty Brass, Danika Fitzpatrick, senior class president, welcomed parents and guests. Victoria Hanson, junior class president, gave the underclass farewell to the seniors.
    Over $90,000 in scholarships was awarded during the evening. This amount included $30,000 from Dollars for Scholars and $60,000 from the Alumni Association. The Logan DeWitt Memorial Scholarship was presented to Caitlin Tingley and Tara Beals; the Joleen Fitzpatrick Raymond Memorial Scholarship went to Isaac Brown; and the Aimee Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship went to Danika Fitzpatrick.
    Randy Currier received a Certificate of Achievement Award and Sam Fitzpatrick received the J. Thomas and Margaret Fitzpatrick Scholarship. Alana Smith received the Heather Corey Dee Memorial Scholarship, Tammy Hopewell the Tyson Ford Perry Scholarship, Nick Carmichael the Army Scholarship and Ricker Scholarships were presented to Brandon Clark, Ian Bauersfeld, Cody Woods, Alana Smith and Isaac Brown.  Semper Fidelis Awards went to Courtney Bragan, Dustin Fitzpatrick and Kody Gates.
    The Judith Oliver Outstanding Female Athlete Awards were presented to Makala Folsom and Amanda Fogarty and the Willie Varney Outstanding Male Athlete Award went to Douglas Dickison.  Douglas also received the Dennis Guy Memorial Scholarship.
    Isaac Brown received the Anthony Delucca Memorial Scholarship, the Good Farms Scholarship went to Kylee Brooker, the Bridge to Hope Scholarship to Makala Folsom and the MSAD #29 Teachers’ Association Scholarships to Tara Beals and Sam Fitzpatrick.  The Masonic Lodge Scholarship was presented to Jordan Bragan, the Michael Clark Honorarium to Courtney Bragan, and Music Boosters Scholarships to Sierra Merritt, Jordyn Findlater, Danika Fitzpatrick, Lucas Anderson, Valerie Jay, Isaac Brown, Erin Barrows, Craig Goodall, Cody Woods, Brandon Clark, Zacharia Harvey and Dustin Fitzpatrick. 
    Receiving SAD 29 Cafeteria Staff Scholarships were Caitlin Tingley, Axel Keber and Shelby Boyce.  The Friends and Needles Quilting Club Scholarship went to Tara Beals and Danika Fitzpatrick.
    Excellence in Art Awards went to Heather Bendlin, Amanda Fogarty, Jaclyn Hodgkins, Sean Lamkins and Gabrielle McGuire.  Amanda also received the Excellence in Photography Award.  Houlton High School Sports Boosters Scholarships were presented to Douglas Dickison and Makala Folsom and Student Council Awards and Scholarships went to Cody Woods, Zacharia Harvey, Lucas Anderson,Tara Beals, and Danika Fitzpatrick.  Cody Woods received the Joseph Dobbins Social Studies Award, the New England Student Leadership Conference Award, and the Mathematics Award.  Alana Smith received the Mildred Rutledge English Award, the Academic Decathlon Award, the Rotary Youth Merit Award, and the Machias Savings Bank Scholarship. The Technology Award went to Cody Jipson.  Civil Rights Team certificates went to Tara Beals, Shelby Boyce, Meagan Cloutier and Breanna Phillips.  The Mattie Barrett Jacobson Memorial Scholarship went to Lucas Anderson, the Carvel Hatfield Memorial Scholarship to Douglas Dickison, the Early College for ME Scholarship to Jared Sutton, and the Houlton Regional Hospital Staff Scholarships went to Cody Woods and Alana Smith.
    HHS Alumni Scholarships went to Meagan Cloutier, Makala Folsom, Tara Beals, Greg Smaligo, Doug Dickison, Daniel Toby, Carlie Woodworth, Lucas Anderson, Amanda Fogarty, Caitlin Tingley, Cody Woods, Courtney Bragan, Craig Goodall, Danika Fitzpatrick, Dustin Fitzpatrick, Erin Barrows, Jordan Russell, Josh Bragan, Nicholas Hannigan, Sam Fitzpatrick, Tamara Hopewell, Tara Beals and Valerie Jay.
    Ian Bauersfeld received the Katahdin Valley Health Services Scholarship and Health Services Foundation Scholarships went to Ian Bauersfeld, Valeria Jay and Alana Smith. Ian also received the Senator George Mitchell Scholarshp and the County Federal Credit Union Scholarship. Carlie Woodworth received the County Federal Credit Union Scholarship and the American Legion Scholarship.  Brandon Clark received the Bangor Saving Bank Scholarship and Tara Beals and Kody Gates received the Houlton Police Department Scholarship, Alana Smith the Gary and Margaret Hagan Scholarship and Jaclyn Hodgkins the MELMAC Principal’s Scholarship.  Cody Woods received the DAR Good Citizenship Award and The Maine Principals’ Award. 
    Dollars for Scholars Committee Awards were presented to Carlie Woodworth, Makala Folsom and Doug Dickison.  Scholarships from Dollars for Scholars went to Erin Barrows, Ian Bauersfeld, Tara Beals, Courtney Bragan, Josh Bragan, Kylee Brooker, Isaac Brown, Josh Carmichael, Brandon Clark, Meagan Cloutier, Doug Dickison, Ashley Drew, Jordyn Findlater, Danika Fitzpatrick, Sam Fitzpatrick, Amanda Fogarty, Makala Folsom, Kody Gates, Craig Goodall, Nicholas Hannigan, Zacharia Harvey, Valerie Jay, Jordan Russell, Greg Smaligo, Alana Smith, Caitlin Tingley, Daniel Toby, Cody Woods and Carlie Woodworth.
    Class Officer Awards went to Senior Class President Danika Fitzpatrick, Vice Presidents Amanda Fogarty, Tara Beals, Lucas Anderson, Nick Hannigan, Alana Smith, Brandon Clark, and Makala Folsom.  Student of the Month Awards went to Lucas Anderson, Gregory Smaligo, Breanna Phillips, Courtney Bragan, Isaac Brown and Valerie Jay.
    Receiving awards for perfect attendance were Ian Bauersfeld, Douglas Dickison and Jaclyn Hodgkins. Third Quarter Highest Honor Principal’s Awards went to Ian Bauersfeld, Brandon Clark, Amanda Fogarty, Kody Gates, Zacharia Harvey, Valerie Jay, Alana Smith and Cody Woods.  Class Honor Medals went to Valedictorian Cody Woods, Salutatorian Alana Smith, First Honor Essayist Valerie Jay and Co-second Honor Essayists Brandon Clark and Zacharia Harvey.
    Junior class National Honor Society members who served as ushers were Erynne Howland, Ashley Grass, Ethan Morse and Mikaela Tuttle.
