Hit, Pitch, Run program slated for May 6

    The Houlton Recreation Department will be sponsoring the Pitch, Hit, Run competition again this year.
    This is a skills competition involving pitching, hitting and running for youth between the ages of 7-14 . 
    The competition will be held on Sunday, May 6 at the Community Park fields.  The program is free to all youngsters who are participating. The Pitch skill will test a youngsters throwing skills, while the Hit skill will be measured for accuracy and distance, and the Run skill will be a timed event where the child will run from second base to home. 
    Age divisions are: boys baseball and girls softball: 7-8; 9-10; 11-12 and 13-14. Age deadline is July 17.  The competition will start at 1 p.m. for all age groups. 
    Winners will qualify on to the Sectional Competition set for Mars Hill on May 20.   Registration is required, please contact the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310 by May 1.
 Parents will need to bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate on the day of the competition.
    This competition is cosponsored with Houlton Rotary and the Houlton Southside After-School Program.
