    Hurley, Frank J., 78, April 13, 2012.  Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.  Spring interment to be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
American Flag ColorAR - Frank Hurley    Caribou – Frank J. Hurley, 78  passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, April 13, 2012,  after losing his battle with cancer. Frank was born on January 21, 1934, in Houlton, the son of the late Donald and Catherine (Crabbe) Hurley.  He attended Houlton High School and graduated from Ricker Classics Institute and  served four years in the U.S. Air Force, three of which were served in Germany, France and Wheeles Field Tripoli, North Africa.  He then was employed by Boeing at Loring and later worked at Maine Public Service for 35 years as a Power Plant Operator. Frank was a Lifetime member of the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion and the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW.
    Mr. Hurley was predeceased by his parents, sister Teresa and brother John.
    Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years Donna (Merritt) Hurley of Caribou  are his son Daniel of Caribou and daughter Catherine and her husband Frank Begert and granddaughters Jennifer and Julie Begert of Sabattus, special cousin Lois Cassidy of Houlton  and his brother’s daughters Jackie Hurley of South Gardiner and Suzanne Fitzpatrick of Houlton. Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from the Parish of Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Following the services, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish center. Spring interment will take place at the St. Mary’s Section of the Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to Hospice of Aroostook, 14 Access Highway, Caribou, ME 04736, Halfway Home Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 488, Caribou, ME or Houlton, Humane Society, P.O. Box 548, Houlton, ME 04730. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home and at the Church.
