To the editor:
The 2012 Aroostook County Relay for Life event held its successful Kick-off Night on January 31st at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.
This kick-off ceremony marked the start of this year’s Relay for Life fund-raising season leading up to the overnight event in June. If you weren’t able to attend our campaign-opening event, please contact us if you have been a team captain before, or would like to learn about how to start a team. Or you can get information about how Relay and the American Cancer Society help people right here in the County.
The Kick-off Night offered a lot of new info for veteran Relayers as well as answered all of the questions for people new to Relay (like “What is Relay?” “How do you start a team?” “What are some good ways to fundraise?”). To participate, you do not have to be a survivor or caregiver to participate – just someone who wants to help in the fight against cancer.
Last year the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event in Aroostook County raised more than $120,000 for the fight against cancer. This year, we want our Relay to be even bigger and better! Come join us to find out how you can help.
