University of Maine Dean’s List
The University of Maine recognized 1,947 students for achieving Deans List honors in the Fall 2011 semester. Of the students who made the Deans List, 1,689 are from Maine, 203 are from out of state, and 55 are from foreign countries.

NMCC Dean’s List
PRESQUE ISLE — Northern Maine Community College has released its Dean’s List for the 2011 fall semester. Two hundred-forty full-time students achieved a 3.20 average or better; 59 of these students were named to high honors with a grade point average of 3.85 or better. Twenty-five students had the distinction of earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

DiMarco receives Middlebury College honors
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Marina DiMarco, daughter of Steve and Mary Beth DiMarco of Houlton, was named to the Dean’s List during the fall 2011 term at Middlebury College. The Dean’s List is the second highest recognition for academic achievement at the liberal arts institution in Vermont.
To be selected for the Dean’s List, students must carry a full course load of four or more classes during the semester, achieve a grade point average of 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher and earn no grade lower than a B minus.
Hovda Named to Dean’s List at LeTourneau University
LONGVIEW, Texas — Benjamin Hovda of Littleton, was recognized for outstanding academic accomplishments by being named to the LeTourneau University Dean’s List for the Fall 2011 semester. Benjamin achieved a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.99 for the semester.
LeTourneau University Associate Provost and Dean of Faculty Dr. Steven D. Mason said being named to the Dean’s List is a significant academic achievement and honor. LeTourneau University is an interdenominational Christ-centered university located in Longview, offering academic majors in aviation, business, criminal justice, education, engineering, health science-nursing, human services, liberal arts, science and psychology.
UMPI invites public to give Love for Troops
PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Student Activities Office would like to invite the public to join them as they make cards, write letters and assemble care packages for American troops on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 14-15.
