The Hodgdon Lady Hawks earned their third win in four games with a 63-32 win over host Katahdin on Monday.
Jennah Steamer popped in 19 points, while Mariah Wiley netted 12 more, including three, 3-pointers. Lacey McQuarrie added six points for the winners.
For Katahdin, Megan Merry was the lead scorer with 18 points, followed by Delaney Fitzpatrick, daughter of Jona (Scovill) and Jared Fitzpatrick, both formerly of Houlton, with seven points.

Last Saturday at Eastern Maine Community College, the Lady Cougars behind Merry’s 23 points took their first win of the year 35-30 over Bangor Christian.
Brianne Majkowski netted seven points, while Fitzpatrick added three and Morgan Livezey a hoop.
For Bangor Christian, 0-4, Leah Dorman scored 12.
Last Thursday, the Lady Cougars were downed, 54-28, by Schenck in Stacyville.
Morgan Thompson scored 17 points to key Schenck’s win, while Laura Nicholson popped in 15 more.
For Katahdin, Merry had a game-high 20 points.
The Hodgdon varsity girls earned a 59-21 victory over host East Grand last Friday behind a well-balanced scoring attack led by McQuarrie’s 13 points and Maya Gardiner’s 12.
For 0-3 East Grand, Elisha Farley scored seven points.
The Lady Hawks were edged by Limestone/MSSM, 42-39, last Thursday in Hodgdon. Wiley scored 15 points and McQuarrie added nine.
For the Eagles, Danielle Pelkey led the way with 14 points and Amanda Allen chipped in with eight.
On Monday in Ashland, the Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors picked up their first win, 69-42, over the Hornets.
The Lady Warriors held a, 29-19, halftime advantage and then outscored the Hornets, 28-10, in the third to take command. Sable Altvater led a well-balanced attack with 15 points, while Olivia Raymond posted 12; Kristen Tarr and Kaitlyn Sommers both chipped in with 11 and Mataya Hartin added 10 more.
For the Hornets, Kayla Cote led the way with a game-high 21 points and Marissa Chasse tallied 11.
Southern Aroostook won the prelim game, 49-3.
Last Thursday, the defending state Class D champion Washburn Beavers overpowered Southern Aroostook, 80-48, in Dyer Brook.
MacKenzie Worcester poured in a game-high 33 points, while Carmen Bragg netted 19 and Joan Overman tossed in eight.
For the Lady Warriors, Altvater posted 18 points and Jess Tucker chipped in with seven. Also, Raymond and Hartin added six points apiece.
The Beavers led 19-10 to open the game and stretched their lead to 43-15 at the half to gain command.
“The second half, we concentrated on stopping MacKenzie and Carmen Bragg since they were the main shooters,” said SACS coach Harris Tucker. “We weren’t closing quick enough on them. They were on their shots.”
Tucker was pleased that his guards were able to get the ball inside to Altavater.

“Sable got back into scoring position,” he said. “We are starting to get more confidence in our point guard so I think that will be helping our game as we go.”
The Greater Houlton Christian Academy lost its opening game last Saturday to Wisdom, 39-33.
The Pioneers took an 18-9 halftime advantage and pushed the lead to 32-21 at the end of the third stanza, holding off the Lady Eagles.
Olivia Lord paced GHCA’s offense with 15 points, while Destinee Neureuther added six. Other scorers included Caitlin Miles, two points; Allison Little and Colby Walker, each chipped in with five apiece.
For Wisdom, Vanessa Pelletier dropped in 14 points, while Ashley Beaulieu and Allysa Dumond both had eight.
The Houlton Lady Shires breezed by host Madawaska, 50-33, last Saturday, jumping to a 17-5 opening lead and 27-10 cushion at halftime. Marina Cameron posted 17 points, while Amanda Fogarty scored 15 more for the 1-1 Houlton girls.
For Madawaska, Kelley Dugal had a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds, as the Owls went to 1-2.
