Holiday no place for hard-hearted

To the editor:
Recently the Salvation Army has gotten a black eye from the community concerning the way it operates at kettle season: Christmas! Think about that word for a minute. It has been brought to the attention of the Salvation Army that people will refuse to donate or let workers stand due to a certain kettle worker. Bad words have been put on Facebook, and such, and I personally believe it has to stop. Shame on our community!
Many people, I am sure, have signed their children up for Christmas toys and have had help with their rent or utilities or fuel. Without volunteers, kettle workers and stores that allow them to stand, our whole town will suffer, as well as our kids. Where are you when volunteers are needed?
