SILVER RIDGE – Fred A. Goodwin, O.H.G.M., 102, reached the end of the trail Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, surrounded by those who loved him. He now embarks on a new adventure exploring heaven’s woodland. Fred was born Jan. 3, 1909, in Silver Ridge, the son of Edwin Goodwin and Mary (McEwen) Goodwin.

He was Uncle Fred, One Honest Gun Man, to three generations of grands, nieces, nephews and assorted other children who loved and were loved by him, especially Hadley Davis.
He is survived by Iva Goodwin, who shared his life for more than 50 years; her daughters, Erlene and husband, Bob, of Wilton, N.H., and Joette and husband, David, of Gorham; a daughter, Joyce Stutler of St. Albans, Vt.; and two sisters, Beryle Rideout of LaLuz, N.M., and Carlyn Greulich of Freehold, N.J.
