The next generation of Weeks in military

    I am Richard Leo Weeks, grandson of Leo Weeks. I am between field exercises, and escaped for a moment to send this to you. I apologize but I do not have a picture in military dress, but I have one from college just prior to my enlistment. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put something together about our family, my grandfather is an amazing and truly accomplished military veteran. I aspire to accomplish as much as I can and to honor our family tradition.
    We are the warrior ants of the American colony. I have much to strive for and am fortunate enough to have a fantastic example of military success. I am a Cavalry Scout, my original aim was to seek immediate deployment to help in Afghanistan. I am now with the First Armored Division Second BCT (brigade combat team), the second BCTs current mission is the testing of various pieces of equipment and technologies to increase the effectiveness of the Army overall.
    I plan to attend selection for the Army Special Forces (green berets), in the first half of next year. I also intend to make a career with the Army. Sincerely, Richard Leo Weeks.
