    Nina L. Kirner, 71, of Tavares, Florida passed away Sunday October 30, 2011. She was born in Houlton, the daughter of Robert and Blanch McQuarrie.
    She moved to Florida in 2003. She was an avid golfer.
    She is survived by her husband, Carl F. Kirner of Tavares, Florida; two daughters, Wanda Folsom and Beth Sylvia and her husband Charles, both of Houlton; a step-daughter and her husband, Debbie and Michael  Varney also of Houlton; two grandsons, Ryan Sylvia and his wife, Heather, of Mapleton, Jared Sylvia and his wife, Melissa, of Houlton; two step-granddaughters, Amanda Varney of Houlton, and Michelle Slike and her husband, Levi, of Mapleton; and five great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Rylee, Calli, Mylee and Michael. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Farrar and her husband Wayne; her brother, Richard McQuarrie and his wife Maureen of Bremerton, Washington; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward McQuarrie of Houlton.
    The family will be having a memorial service in Houlton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UCF Communication Disorders Clinic, Aphasia House, Attention Dr. Janet Whiteside, 12424 Research Pky., Suite 155, Orlando, FL 32826.
