Aroostook Times
Crystal — A large crowd of young people attended the candy pull at Clarence Jarvis’ home.
Local — The preparations for the Mother Goose Fair is progressing finely and the event will take place at Mansur Hall under the auspices of the Unitarian Society.
Main Street — John B. Madigan is making extensive repairs on his Main Street residence. A double roof is begin put on and a spacious piazza is being built on the south and east sides of the house.

Littleton — The Basket Social which was held at the Logan School was very successful, the proceeds amounting to $42.35.
Monticello — This weather is very discouraging to the farmers. Many of them are not through digging potatoes and there are thousands of bushels of grain still in the fields.
Farewell — Mrs. Charles Turbill, superintendent of nurses at the Aroostook Hospital for the past six years has resigned. She was given a surprise party by Misses Dorothy McCrea, Jeanette McGary, Annie Seaman and 12 student nurses. Miss Theresa Orser will succeed Mrs. Turbill.

Monticello — Postmistress Opal Temple opened the dedication ceremonies of the new Monticello Post Office, along with Town Manager Merle F. Lowrey.
Criticism — In a prepared speech for presentation to the Houlton Business and Professional Women’s Club last night Percy E. Sargent, civil defense director for Aroostook County called upon ladies to give the Houlton Town Council no rest until they appoint a Civil Defense Director and have an adequate organization.
Honor Society — New members of the Houlton High School Honor Society are, Barbara Howe, Susan Gerow, Betsy Lane, Nancy Lee, Carol Hannigan, David Haskell, Timothy Lane, John Carson and Peter Lambert.

Addition — Crest View Manor broke ground for the construction of a day/dining-room and the addition of two bedrooms.
Recording — Cheryl Lovely of Houlton has had a second record album released entitled, Cheryl Lovely and Friends in Nashville.”

Campaigning — Mrs. Barbara McKernan, mother of gubernatorial candidate Jock McKernan was in Houlton campaigning on behalf of her son.
Ambulance director — Edwin E. Ellis was sworn in as director of Houlton’s Ambulance Service.
