Halloween Carnival Saturday
The Houlton Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 29.  The carnival will be held at the Gentle Memorial Building from 1-3 p.m.  Children between the ages of preschool and grade 6 are invited to the carnival and must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Cost for the carnival will be $3 per person. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and come play the carnival games. Morning fitness class
The Houlton Recreation Department has extended the morning fitness registration deadline to Nov. 4  with a starting date of the class on Monday, Nov. 7.
The class will be held each Monday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The class instructor Renee Nieland will design the class to meet the needs of the participants with a warm up, aerobic phase and cool downs. To register or for more information call 532-1310.
Mojo cross country ski rentals
The Houlton Recreation Department has extended registrations on their Mojo’s cross country ski rental packages to Oct. 28.  Each package includes skis, poles and boots for the winter season.  Cost is $55 for youth packages and $80 for adult packages.  For more information call 532-1310.
Hours open gym, game room
Grades 2-12: Wed., Oct. 26, 2:45-5 p.m.; Thurs., Oct. 27, 2:45-5 p.m.; Fri., Oct. 28 2:45-5 p.m.;, Sat., Oct. 29, closed for Halloween Fun Carnival; Sun., Oct. 30 1-4 p.m.; Mon., Oct. 31 2:45-5 p.m.; Tues., Nov. 1, 2:45-5 p.m..
Weekly activities      
Walking – Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free to all participants.
Men’s Open Gym – Each Monday and Wednesday 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $2 per person, must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school to participate.
Women’s Open Gym – Each Thursday 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $2 per person, must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school to participate.
Youth Evening Gym – Fridays ONLY 6-8 p.m. for grades 7-12.
Parent & Tot Time – Each Tuesday and Thursday 8:30-10 a.m.. Some toys will be provided, but you may bring your own. Free to all participants.
Rug Hooking – Each Wednesday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Bring your rug hooking project and a bag lunch.
