Herring earns honor

    Presque Isle junior forward Lainey Herring (Houlton, Maine) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Herring scored four goals in a 5-1 win at SUNY Canton last Friday. Coming into the match, Herring had just three goals on the season. She followed up Friday’s performance with another goal as the Owls won 2-1, completing a weekend sweep of the Roos.
    “Pace and power.  That’s what she has plenty of,” said Owls’ head coach Dan Williams, “she played fantastic both games.”
