The Greater Houlton Christian Academy cross-country runners competed in the 2011 Maine Cross-Country Festival of Champions 5K run last Saturday in Belfast.
Abbey Leonardi, a Kennebunk senior, placed first with a time of 18:16.55, while on the boys’ side, Madison senior Matthew McClintock finished on top in a time of 16:08.07.

With more than 400 runners competing in the girls’ race, Washburn sophomore Carsyn Koch finished in the top 10 with a seventh-place time of 19:59.66.
The first GHCA female runner to finish was junior Destinee Neureuther, 158th, 24:02.19 followed by junior Lauren Robertson, 26:34.35; junior Sara Hemingway, 27:30.73; junior Halle Duff, 28:23.01 and freshman Kayla Neureuther, 29:21.96. GHCA girls Halle Duff and Sara Hemingway keep pace with the crowd during the race.
In the boys’ race of more than 630 runners, GHCA senior Micah Wiley was 99th with a time of 19:00.62, while other teammates times were: Hodgdon junior Nick Lunn with a time of 19:24.41; GHCA junior Russell Socoby, 23:04.89; GHCA sophomore Josh Winslow, 25:44.11 and GHCA sophomore Alex Angotti, 27:44.94.
