Take Off Pounds Sensibly ME 0233, HOULTON
by Lois Downing
Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 0233 of Houlton met at the Aldergate building on High Street for its Friday, August 26 meeting. Fifteen ladies attended including four KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly).
In place of Denise Clark who was absent Charlotte Marley conducted the meeting. Loser of the week was Barbara Grant with Lois Downing as runner-up. The skinny dish was taken home by Joanne Scott.
Janette Nelson led us in a few minutes of exercises. She also gave us a short reading on blood pressure. Barbara Grant presented the program on salt. Sea salt and regular salt have the same sodium. The salt is not always listed as salt on the package. The body restores quickly from a sodium rejection. We should keep our salt intake at 1500 milligrams per day. We should not eat any product that has more than 300 milligrams. Joyce Estey gave the information on pink and white peppermints saying that the pink peppermints have more calories per piece.
The group will meet next Friday at the same time. Weigh-in is at 8-8:45 a.m. with the meeting starting at 9 and usually ending at 10 a.m. For more information on the chapter you may call Charlotte Marley at 757-8483 or Betty Ivey at 532-9653. See you next week, everyone is welcome.
