Wendy Oellers-Fulmer, a summer resident on East Grand Lake, is displaying her custom, one-of-a-kind jewelry at Visions Galley in downtown Houlton.
Oellers-Fulmer’s jewelry art began when she crafted a bracelet for her daughter’s wedding three years ago. She enjoyed the process so much, she continued to design jewelry and people began asking her to make individual pieces. Oellers-Fulmer discovered she had a talent for the work and her hobby turned into a business opportunity.
Oellers-Fulmer, an award-winning teacher for her work in integrated arts and environmental education, started her business, Dreamscape Jewelry Design several years ago in Laconia, N.H.
“I found a joy in making beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry,” she said. “The designs are from the stories found in either the unusual focal beads or semi-precious gemstones.” The designs are all her own. Sharing skills with other artists and hours of practice in her studio have developed her expertise Each piece of jewelry is photographed so she does not duplicate it, making each individual item a one of a kind.
When Oellers-Fulmer isn’t making jewelry, she enjoys listening to music, hiking, gardening, painting with water colors, birding, reading and writing poetry.
