CARIBOU — Aroostook County Tourism, a sub-committee within the Northern Maine Development Commission jurisdiction, is sponsoring a contest to identify and recognize the best images of northern Maine during the warm summer months.
The Aroostook County summer photo contest began June 21 and ends August 19. The contest’s five categories include Aroostook County scenic views, wildlife, outdoor recreation, festivals and events, and cities and towns. The photos must represent Aroostook County during the summer.
Winning photos will be displayed on the ACT website and may be used for marketing projects if permitted. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate. Photos may be submitted as prints or in digital format; see contest rules for details. There will be one overall winner with additional winners in each category.
The prize for the summer contest is a gift basket filled with various items made in Aroostook and a jacket with the Crown of Maine logo. The total value of the prize is $150. There are also prizes for the winning photo of each category. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Must be 18 years or older.
All photos must be submitted with an entry form and copyright release form if you would like your photo to be used by ACT for marketing purposes.
