HOULTON — The Houlton Sears Hometown Store is kicking off its charitable organization event to benefit the American Red Cross.
Sears is supporting the local community by donating two percent of the purchase price of each item sold on Wednesday, June 22 and Wednesday, June 29 at the Houlton Sears Hometown Store, which has designated the American Red Cross as its recipient charity in connection with the event.
“During these continued difficult economic times, it is important to find ways to give back to organizations in need,” says Bert Dunn, owner of the Sears Hometown Store in Houlton. “We have also requested that donated funds be used for the Chapter’s local Disaster Relief Fund, to help Aroostook County victims served by the Pine Tree Chapter, after house fires, floods and storms.”
The Houlton Sears Hometown Store is also honoring local heroes with a special event this Friday, June 24. “We will be offering a special savings pass for our military, police, veterans, firefighters, teachers and hospital staff. Details can be found on the bottom of the front page of our insert in today’s paper.”
The Houlton Sears Hometown Store invites customers to shop either in-store or online at http://www.searshometownstores.com for in-store pickup both today and Wednesday, June 29 and give back to the community. “We are delighted to be able to support our community, its’ heroes and the efforts of the American Red Cross,” said Mr. Dunn.
The Sears Hometown Store of Houlton will present a check to the Red Cross later this summer.
