BS-MeetAtShinPond-dcx-ptsh-22International Appalachian Trail Maine Chapter held their annual weekend gathering once again at Shin Pond Village in Mt. Chase from May 12-14. David Rand of Washburn, Bob Ellis of Houlton, Torrey Sylvester of Linneus and Gina Clark of Oakfield attended this annual educational and fun weekend event. As always, Craig and Terry Hill were gracious hosts and the home cooking was appreciated. A day trip to Bowlin Camps to learn the history of this area located on the East Branch of the Penobscot River and a delicious luncheon featuring cream of fiddlehead and Italian sausage soups and assorted grilled sandwiches was enjoy by all. So too were the moose-shaped chocolate cookies! The group paid tribute to longtime friend Geologist Bill Forbes of Washburn and a moment of silence was also held.
