   MARS HILL – Kalen Bryan Bell, 28, beloved firstborn son of Bryan and Marie (Parks) Bell, quietly passed away in his sleep and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 28, 2008. He was born on August 26, 1979 in Presque Isle, ME.  Image
    Kalen graduated from Central Aroostook High School in 1997 and from Northern Maine Technical College in 1999 with an associate’s degree in business management.  He had previously worked at Presque Isle High School’s school farm and was currently working on the family farm with his dad, brothers and grandfather, Gary.   
    Kalen enjoyed woodworking, vacationing with his family every summer, spending time with his friends and family, making people laugh, and the outdoors and camping, especially at Bill Gardiner’s with Christina. During high school Kalen took great pride in raising three steers as a member of the 4-H Club and was privileged to be able to attend the Kansas City National FFA convention, as well as several other related trips.  
    Two memorable vacations with his family were a Caribbean cruise in 2002 and a Red Sox game in 2006.  Kalen was known for his happy-go-lucky personality, his pleasant smile, and kind words to anyone who crossed his path.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  
    He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Karter and his wife April, Kramer and his fiancé Mindy Bragg, and one sister Katie Bell, all of Mars Hill; grandparents, Gary Bell and Patty Bell of Mars Hill, and Alice Parks Whitney of Portland, ME;  aunts and uncles, Breen and Joanne Bell of Mars Hill, Sherry and Bruce Sargent, Shelly and Brent Esancy, all of Presque Isle, ME,  Paul and Connie Parks of Yarmouth, ME, Max Parks and Mark Parks of Bridgewater, ME, Margaret and Stuart Welch of Westbrook, Marsha and Frank Kearney of Bradley, ME, Micheal and Yolanda Parks of Orange City, FL, and Milan and Sheryl Parks of Las Vegas, NV; a special nephew, Landen Bell and niece, Lily Bell; special friends Aaron Boyd and Christina Kaiser, and a special cousin, Evan Kearney. He is survived by many other cousins and friends.
    He was predeceased by his grandfather Evan W. Parks, his aunt Maxine Parks Anderson, and cousins Frank S. Kearney, Jr. and Evan R. Parks.  
    Friends called on Thursday, May 1st from 6-8:30 p.m. at the United Baptist Church,  Church Street in Mars Hill. Services were held at the Central Aroostook High School music room on Friday, May 2nd at 2 p.m. with the Rev Gerry Dill officiating. Interment will be in the Kings Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill.
