The Adventure Race is hosted by the East Grand High School Outdoor Education Program and sponsored in part by Ski Rack Sports of Bangor and First Wind.
“This is the sixth adventure race with 63 competing  last year,” said Dave Conley, race coordinator “While the race will be physically challenging, it is not beyond the reach of those who are in reasonably good physical condition.”
This 20-mile race includes an off-trail compass run, mountain biking, canoeing and a climbing wall challenge.
“The race is designed to get teens and adults outside for some good wholesome physical activity while traveling through rugged and remote eastern Maine wilderness,” Conley added.

Junior/Senior participants need to be a minimum age of 13 and must compete with an adult. Open division can be solo, kayakers, race boats or relay team of two to six members. Some members of the team just do the compass run, some the biking and others canoeing. Kayaks, race boats and solo entries are also welcome in the open division.
