On Saturday in Howland, the Houlton boys varsity tennis team picked up a 5-0 win over Penobscot Valley High School. But, the Houlton varsity girls suffered a 3-0 loss.
In boy’s action, Zachariah Harvey defeated Tyler Wood, 8-1, while Tyler Delano topped Dylan Morin, 8-1 and Jordan Russell won by a forfeit.
In doubles, Cody Wood/D.J. McGary blanked Austin Thibodeau/Jerry Faloon, 8-0, while Zach Ritchie/Avery Kibler won by forfeit.
In girl’s action, Houlton’s Daisy Torres defeated Cassandra Thibeault 8-1, while Kristina Hallett (PVHS) beat Megan Gerath, 8-3. There was a double forfeit in third singles.
In doubles action, PVHS took the sweep as Kristi Mackin/Lyndsee Libby bested Courtney Bragan/Lizzy Garcia 8-2 and Jackie Woodward/Nicole Hatch won by forfeit.
