Hello Members! Warm weather, birds chirping, the smell of the grass, and GOLF. Ahhh life is good. Old man winter may have got a splinter for he is taking his time to get out, but spring has sprung and it’s time for fun! The upcoming 2011 golf season is near and I wanted to drop a line to you all and give a few updates.
The course appears to have wintered extremely well. I have walked the course and am very pleased with what I saw. The greens are in great shape and will be some of the best in the state again this year. There is still snow in places, but most greens and fairways are clear. It wont be long now. I would like to thank all of you for your continued support and friendship.
Many of you have expressed interest in a member work day. Cool! I’m all about it. I can’t express how much I appreciate the gesture. A date of May 1 from 1-4 p.m. weather permitting. It will be a winter cleanup. Brush, leaves, sweeping and such. I would also like some suggestions on any future projects you may wish to tackle and who is interested in participating. I thought a barbecue after would hit the spot. I cook a mean burger.
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Jim Dyer. He brought joy to everyone who knew him. He will be missed by all. I plan to organize a memorial tournament on May 28 and donating proceeds to the charity of his family’s choosing.
I hope the winter has treated you well and I can’t wait to see you. If you have any questions about anything or just wanted to say hello you can call me anytime at 949-2121. See ya soon! We plan to open the first week in May.
