HOULTON — The Maine Arts Commission’s Good Idea Arts Visibility Grant program has approved a grant for the Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project.
According to Bob Cowperthwaite, president of the SACAP board, the grant was written for the purpose of creating a new website which will integrate social networking, Pay Pal sales, blogs and interactive features to enhance visibility of the organization and artists.
The new website will be designed and coordinated with Fred Grant of Houlton, a recognized local website designer whose work has assisted in marketing local businesses as well as arts center fundraising projects.
The expanded website will become an active springboard for the artists and SACAP that should increase visibility on a global level.
“The board of directors is pleased to receive approval of the grant that will provide funding for our project,” Cowperthwaite said. “We are so appreciative of the fact that we can work as a team with community support that helps foster our flourishing art community and creates excitement in our cultural environment.”
